Mezzanine with Modular Building

On a busy production floor, two things are always in short supply: open space and a clear line of sight. You need room for people and machines to move safely, and you need supervisors who can actually see what's happening. Here's how we helped a client gain both in their new facility — by building up.

THE challenge

Our client was setting up a new manufacturing facility and needed to make the most of the floor — open enough for workers and machines to move and flow without compromising safety. But freeing up space couldn't mean losing control of the operation. Supervisors still needed a clear view of everything happening below. More room and better oversight, at the same time.

THE outcome

We designed two freestanding mezzanines with them, built around how the floor actually runs. The first carries a modular building up top, giving supervisors an enclosed, elevated vantage point over the entire production floor — eyes on everything, out of the way of the work. The second does double duty: a parts store both on the mezzanine and underneath it, with supervisors working from the upper level — storage and oversight stacked into a single footprint. Together, they gave the client real floor space back while keeping a constant line of sight on operations. And because manufacturing never sits still, the modular offices are built to move — quick to install, reconfigure, or relocate as needs shift.
