Shelving Mezzanine Installation
When a retailer moves into a new space, every square foot has to earn its keep — and the budget rarely stretches as far as the floor plan.
Sometimes the smartest move is to make one system do two jobs: storage that also carries the structure above it.
Here's how we did exactly that for a recreational vehicle retailer settling into a new location.
THE challenge
A recreational vehicle retailer was moving into a new location and needed to maximize every square inch of it — without blowing the budget on the build.
The catch: their inventory ran the full range, from jet skis and motorcycles to hardware and clothing, so whatever we built had to handle heavy, awkward product and tidy retail display in the same footprint.
THE outcome
Working alongside the client and their architects, we turned our shelving units into the mezzanine itself — an innovative floor-supporting structure that doubles as storage, delivering a fully functional second level at reduced cost.
It easily carried the full range, from jet skis and motorcycles to hardware and clothing, and we tailored it to how the store actually sells: drawer systems for clean, compartmentalized storage, and poles for an efficient clothing display. For work surfaces, we added our locally built workstations — robust, functional, and Quebec-made, supporting the local economy along the way.
