Toll Booth Installation

Not every project is a warehouse. From prefab in-plant buildings to outdoor guardhouses and kiosks, we build structures for wherever the work happens — including the side of a brand-new highway. Here's one that had to stand up to the elements from day one.

THE challenge

We were brought in on the Autoroute 30 project, working with a private partner and Quebec's Ministère des Transports to build the toll booth stations. These aren't sheltered structures — they sit outside, in use around the clock, exposed to everything a Quebec year throws at them. They had to be tough enough to take extreme temperature swings and hard daily use, and practical enough to repair quickly if a booth was ever damaged or vandalized.

THE outcome

We designed and built toll booths made to last in the open. Each unit was delivered and installed in one piece — no on-site assembly to slow the highway's timeline — and built robust enough to handle Quebec's temperature extremes without trouble. We also designed them to be easily modified or repaired, so damage or vandalism could be fixed fast and the booths kept working. Built for the roadside, ready for the climate.
